Common Questions
What patients ask us most.
How much does Med Viajar's coordination service cost?+
Our coordination service is free to patients. Med Viajar earns a referral fee from our partner hospitals and clinics โ this does not affect the price you pay, which is agreed directly with the medical provider.
How quickly can you arrange a trip?+
Most patients are in Panama within 3โ6 weeks of first contact. For urgent cases โ such as cancer treatment or time-sensitive procedures โ we can often arrange travel within 1โ2 weeks. We'll give you a realistic timeline during your initial consultation.
What if I need to cancel or postpone?+
Life happens. We work with our partner hospitals and hotels to arrange flexible terms where possible. Your coordinator will help navigate any changes without unnecessary costs or stress.
Can I bring a family member or companion?+
Absolutely โ and we encourage it. We can arrange accommodation for your companion, include them in all coordination communications, and make sure they have everything they need during your procedure and recovery.
What if something goes wrong medically?+
All partner hospitals are fully equipped private facilities with ICU, emergency departments and specialist coverage. Your coordinator is available 24/7 and has direct lines to your surgical team. In the rare case of a complication requiring a return trip, we coordinate that without additional coordination fees.
Do I need to speak Spanish?+
Not at all. All our coordinators are bilingual and all partner hospitals have English-speaking staff. You will never be in a situation where you can't communicate clearly about your medical care.
